The total production of Finnish industry improved compared to the previous month, but is still far from the level of a year ago and with some industries unable to emerge from the crisis.
Production went down by 11.2% in the electrical and electronics industry, by 8.4% in the forest industry and by 8.1% in the metal industry from the year before.
Industrial output decreased in January both from the previous month and from one year back. Also, new orders in manufacturing fell by 1.6% year-on-year.
In November, working day adjusted secondary production (manufacturing and construction) grew by slightly under 5% and services by roughly 1.5% year-on-year.
