Miikka Leinonen, the 20-year-old football player from Espoo FC who was missing since last week, was found dead on Saturday 15 February.

The police and the Espoo FC club had asked for help last week to find the missing young man. The Western Uusimaa police department had even published a picture of him and another of the jacket he was wearing when he disappeared.

According to the last police information, Leinonen's body was found inside a boat docked at the harbour in the Humallahti bay, near Rajasaari island, in Helsinki.

It was the owner of the ship who found the body of the deceased on Saturday and gave notice to the authorities.

The Police say the cause of death is being investigated. However, they point out that they do not suspect that this death is related to any crime, which would point to a possible accident or suicide.
