Substitute Viktor Claesson scored in stoppage time as Sweden beat Poland 3-2 at Euro 2020 on Wednesday to finish top of their group and send Robert Lewandowski home with his Polish team-mates.

RB Leipzig playmaker Emil Forsberg opened the scoring 81 seconds into the game on a sweltering evening in St Petersburg for the second-fastest goal in tournament history, and was on target again in the 59th for a 2-0 lead for a tournament tally of three.

World Footballer Lewandowski netted in the 61st and 84th but Poland failed to get the win they would have needed to progress, and their fate was sealed for good by Claesson in added on time.

Sweden topped Group E with seven points, and moved into a round of 16 game in Glasgow on Tuesday against a third-placed team from another group. They placed ahead of Spain who play Croatia in Copenhagen on Monday, while third-placed Slovakia and Poland are out.
