Coronavirus also affects children, although less than other population groups.

According to international reports, coronavirus cases diagnosed in children have been very mild.

Slightly over 200 of the cases found in Finland were diagnosed in people under the age of 16, according to the national health agency (THL). This is over 4% of the total number of cases. And the government ordered schools to reopen on 14 May.

The Ministry of Education emphasized that "international and national experience show that the role of children in the dissemination of coronavirus infections is not similar to that of adults."

Therefore, Foreigner.fi asked the readers in a Twitter poll: “Is it safe that children go back to schools at this stage of the epidemic?”

The respondents were given two options which were 'Yes' and ‘No’.

The mini poll was answered by 36 readers and 63.9% of them said 'No’ and 36.1% voted ‘Yes’.

Foreigner.fi is going to ask a different question about Finland every Friday on its official Twitter account @foreignerfi
