Well-known American actor from the Prison Break show, Robert Knepper was filming in Europe in March when production had to be suspended.

Knepper then came to Finland with his wife Nadine Kary because he was already familiar with the country: the actor was here a few years ago to make the short film Fate with Rami Al Hussein (Rami Jaber stage name) in Oulu.

In the end, the couple spent more than two months as Al Hussein's guest at his house in Espoo. Also Knepper is the godfather of Al Hussein's daughter Amira.

Knepper said that “sometimes I'm really pinched myself how lucky I am because I got to be with Nadine in coronavirus exile in Finland.”

In just over two months, the Hollywood star met many Finns with his Canadian-born wife. Former F1 driver Mika Salo rode them in his boat in the Gulf of Finland and offered family dinner and took Robert and Nadine to Farang to eat.

Mika Salo talked to Ilta Sanomat and said: “When we met, we usually talked about movies and race cars. It was nice to spend time together.”

Director Renny Harlin, on the other hand, talked about films in private parties, and with other Finns, the subjects were thrown from side to side. Knepper and his wife also had time to spend time in Inkoo.

In a seaside villa near Inkoo, the actor got excited to take a sauna and jump to eight-degree water. He thought it was a memorable experience.

Over the weeks, Robert and Nadine went out a lot. They fell in love with Nuuksio National Park and Seurasaari, among others. The couple said,“it is fantastic how Finland has taken care of its citizens by preserving wild areas for outdoor activities.”

Knepper has also been pleased that the Finns have not disturbed him. Knepper, who has been shopping for food at Prisma, says that he was able to do business in peace. Admittedly, he laughs that he has worn a cap and occasionally a face mask, so identification may have been difficult.

Knepper is already filming in Europe and future projects are in the pipeline, but due to the coronavirus situation, filming schedules still uncertain.

“Let's see how the work starts. If there is no information about the schedules soon, I may come back to Finland. You have a great country,” he said.

Robert Knepper has made theater, television, and numerous films for over 20 years. He is perhaps best known for the Prison Break in which he starred in Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell.
