A 35 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of being the perpetrator. The Western Uusimaa District Court has put him in custody pending trial.

Man hit in the face with a knife at a bus stop in Espoo

The West Uusimaa Police Department informed today that a man from Espoo has been arrested for an aggravated assault with a knife at a bus stop.

The incident occurred on Monday 16 September approximately at 16:00 at Merituulentie road, in Tapiola neighbourhood.

The victim was a middle-aged man from Espoo, who was waiting for the bus at a bus stop when an unknown man appeared and hit him with a knife in the face. The attack caused him a serious eye injury.

According to the information released by the police, a 35 year old man from Espoo has been arrested on suspicion of being the perpetrator. During the interrogation, he admitted the facts.

The detainee is suspected of aggravated an assault and gross negligence and the Western Uusimaa District Court has put him in custody pending trial.
