The health authorities in Finland are trying to trace the travel routes and personal contacts maintained by the woman infected with coronavirus (or koronavirus, as spelled in Finland), who is isolated at the Helsinki University Central Hospital (HUS).

Health authorities reported on Wednesday that a woman "of working age" is being treated in HUS after being subjected to laboratory tests that confirmed that she has coronavirus. The woman had recently traveled to Milan, in northern Italy, one of the most affected areas in Europe for this disease.

The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL, in its Finnish acronym), informed on Thursday via Twitter that they are "currently identifying" the people who was in close contact with this person along her travel itinerary.

On Wednesday it was also announced that health authorities have so far identified two people who have been exposed to the disease. Both remain in quarantine in their homes and their state of health is being monitored by health authorities.

Estonia, Finland's neighboring country, also confirmed on Thursday its first case of coronavirus. As reported by the Russian agencies TASS and Interfax -quoting the health authorities of Estonia- the infected person is a man of Iranian nationality but with permanent residence in Estonia who had recently traveled to his home country.
