The police department of the Häme region (Tavastia, south Finland) is investigating an alleged crime of a sexual nature of which a minor girl has been the victim.

According to police information, the suspected crime was perpetrated in the city of Forssa on the evening of Saturday 5 June, between 10:30 to 11:30 pm in the vicinity of Lamminranta beach.

On Saturday evening, thousands of young students gathered on beaches, parks, and other public places throughout the country to celebrate the end of the academic year.

The police have not provided any details on the seriousness of the crime under investigation.

In a statement, the police described the suspect as a man between 20 and 30 years old, 180 centimeters tall and foreign in appearance, but nevertheless he "spoke Finnish well."

Fled on foot

The suspect had dark hair, short on the sides, and a "normal" body build. At the time of the assault, he was wearing knee-length shorts and a thin black jacket.

After the attack, he left the place on foot.

The police have asked for clues from people who may have been in the area or who may have known something about this case.
