Clocks go backward one hour on Sunday 27

In the last weekend of October, at dawn from Saturday 26 to Sunday 27, clocks in Europe will be turned backward one hour.

In Finland the change will be effective at 4:00, when it will be 3:00 again. This clock change will mark the beginning of winter time.

The clock change takes place twice a year, normally on the last Sunday of March (when summer time is adopted) and the last of October.

The objective of this time adaptation is a better use of natural daylight hours and consequently greater energy savings.

Be sure to adjust your analogue clocks and watches on Sunday morning. Smartphones and smart watches will change automatically unless they are set to manual.

Time change will be eliminated in 2021

However, there are many scientific studies that question its effectiveness and highlight the disorders it generates for people (sleep problems, fatigue, irritability)...

For this reason, the EU approved to eliminate clock changes in 2021. Before that, Member States must inform, at the latest in April 2020, in which time zone they wish to remain.
