Prime Minister Sanna Marin tested negative for coronavirus, the Government Communications Department said in a press release on Friday evening.

The day before (Thursday), coinciding with a parliamentary question time, the government announced that Marin had moved to work remotely from her official residence in Kesäranta as a precaution against possible exposure to the coronavirus.

Later, the government office confirmed that the prime minister decided to move to teleworking after a warning of possible exposure to Covid-19 came to her through the Koronavilkku app.

It was the fifth time since April that she moved to telecommuting for fear of Covid-19. On all these occasions, the test was negative.

Asymptomatic

The government statement said Sanna Marin was asymptomatic and feeling fine.

On Friday evening, another statement announced that the prime minister's precautionary withdrawal had ended.

Marin returns directly to work after testing negative, without maintaining the quarantine that authorities require for anyone suspected of having been exposed to the virus.
