Finland extended a ban on passenger flights from Britain on Thursday, due to fears about the new strain of the coronavirus that is said to be more transmissible.

The flight ban, which was initially imposed on 21 December, was temporarily extended until 11 January 2021. the Finnish transport and communications authority Traficom said.

Many countries in the European Union and beyond restricted travel from Britain temporarily after learning of the new strain of the virus, which is believed to be more contagious than the original.
