In February 2019, a total of 13,142 new motor vehicles were registered in Finland, of which 9,480 were automobiles. First registrations decreased by 3.0 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

In February the number of new passenger cars registered was 8,084, which was 11.3 per cent down from the year before. The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 23.2 per cent.

These data are based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) and they have been produced by Statistics Finland. The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.

In the January to February period of 2019 a total of 31,493 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was an decrease of 4.0 per cent.

The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to February period was 19,821, which is 12.7 per cent down from the year before. The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to February period were Toyota, Skoda and Volkswagen.
